A: Anyone from 8 to 80 and who have a reasonable level of fitness can learn Aikido.  Although at Southport Muto Aikido Club we are unable to accept anyone under 14.

A: No.  As long as you can get to the dojo under your own steam you will be able to train.

A: Your fitness levels will improve with every session you do.

A: To start off tracksuit trousers and a Tee shirt are all you need to have.  After a few lessons you will be expected to wear a white judo or karate suit (gi).

A: No, not to start with.  The club has a limited amount of spare equipment, however you will probably wish to supply your own jo (wooden stave) and bokken (wooden practice sword).

A: There are no martial arts equipment stockists in Southport.  The sports shops may have your size of jodo or karate suit in stock but now-a-days the best way to obtain equipment is on the internet.  Look on the Links page for suggested sites use the search bar at the top of this page.
